Want to publish your portfolio? For free, with a slick layout? Now you can, as Google has made available to photographers a tool used by museums, Google Open Gallery. An extension of Google Cultural Institute — which helps museums publish online collections and exhibitions — this is a free design and publishing package that you can use to showcase your photos.

“Enhance your existing website, or create a brand new one for free.”
Google Open Gallery

“It’s probably something any professional photographer or artist should at the very least take a look at, as it requires no programming knowledge and can create some beautiful, immersive virtual tours.”
TechCrunch, Dec 10, 2013

“Despite looking like the love child of Flickr and Behance, Open Gallery does have a clean, put-together feel.”
The Verge, Dec 10, 2013

“It’ll be interesting to see how much uptake this gets among photographers just looking to get their work out there in a way that’s more visually appealing.”
TechCrunch, Dec 10, 2013
